Cubs’ Report

At last year’s AGM we had not long taken over cubs and stated that we would like to up our game which we have continued to do.
The parent rota has become very successful and the feedback from parents is they are loving participating with the cubpack.
Our cubs have enjoyed trying new and exciting things such as shooting, archery, more bushcraft skills and learning to sing to name but a few. We had planned to try iceskating and canoeing however we came into lockdown and these activities have been put on hold with the hope that we can do them in the not too distant future.
The cubs have participated in district events with trips to RAF Hendon and Chatham Docks.
The cubs continue to earn and work towards badges.
The work on the scout hut has had a massive impact on some of the cubs, those that didn’t join in due to loud noises are now fully participating, which is wonderful to see. The biggest issue we have faced has been the size of the cubs which has grown, we have even welcomed some back that had previously left. We would like to thank all the leaders and behind the scene helpers who have helped and supported us through the year. A special thank you goes out to the team that put all the work into making the scout hut fabulous again.
As this is mine and Sues last report we would like to take this opportunity to say thank you to all you wonderful scouters, it is not said enough, but you are all amazing and fabulous people. It has been a pleasure to get cold, wet, hungry, nearly run over, sunburnt, exhausted, muddy, hurt, tears from laughing, having the best experience ever with you all.
