The Scouts

Our Scout Troop

The Scout Troop has been in existence for over 95 years and has had various different leadership styles over this time.

Currently the Scouts meet weekly, on a Friday night from 7.30pm to 9.30pm.

The leaders work hard to provide a balanced and enjoyable fun-filled programme. Each night consists of games, team activities, badge work or skills. These programmes have now been adapted to enable the scouts to work on the new badges and others that link into them, sometimes without them even realising they are working towards badges!

These skills learnt on scout nights come in very useful on camps. The group enjoys camping at Frost Camp in January, an Easter Camp and week long summer camps. Whilst away they enjoy taking part in activities such as rafting, archery, climbing and abseiling. We also support a local campsite in Shere, carrying out service camps there. We currently have around 30 members between the ages of 10 -14 years.

HM King Charles III has been confirmed as our new Patron, a great honour for UK Scouts.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
