Oak Colony Annual report 19/20

Beavers’ Report – Oak Colony:

It has been another busy year for oak colony. We have had trips out to the fire station, fires at Boiderhurst, making mashmallow chocolate digestive sandwiches over a fire at the scout hut. Malcolm McGee came and taught the children bushcraft skills.
We had a visit from RNLI where some of the beavers got to dress up whilst learning about water safety.

Some of the children had their first night away from home at a sleepover at the scout hut. This was to ready them for their first night in a tent out in the open however that was put on hold due to lockdown.
The beavers attended a joint cub trip to Hobbledown where many fears were faced in the black tunnels, high towers and zorbing wheels!
The beavers continue to work towards badges.
As always the parents are enjoying getting involved when it’s their turn on the parent rota. Oak colony goes from strength to strength and this year we have seen more girls joining to the point we have almost a 50/50 split.
We would like to thank all the team for their support throughout the last year.
