Group Chair – Katie Chitty – AGM Report 19/20

I would like to thank all our Leaders, Executive Committee and parent reps for your hard work throughout the year.

I report on 1st Leatherhead Scout building and its contents.

Our building is in good condition and is well maintained, we had some remedial work completed on the apex roof windows as they were leaking together with the ridge tiles that were also creating wet patches inside the building.

The Executive Committee members redecorated the main Hall and fundraised for acoustic panels by installing these ourselves saved over £1800.

Since acoustic panels have been installed everyone is benefitting from the tremendous difference they have made for our group.

We installed a new modern sign outside featuring the new scout logo along with security lighting.

We purchased 2 new pop up marquees in our scout colours (blue and yellow), to support our fundraising events.

Going forward, extractor fans will be installed in our 3 toilets.
The premises decorating will continue and WIFI and external security camera’s will be installed in due course.

Work in and around our building has continued during this year keeping our Leaders and Executive committee members busy. Almost all the rooms have been redecorated, new notice boards were made by the team, along with the outside rear having a severe prune, providing more light.

I am delighted to tell you that we have also had the opportunity to rent our building for 6 months during the day to The Grange at Bookham, who were looking for additional space during Covid 19, to help support their vulnerable disabled people be able to return to their daily activities programme.
Our Quarter Master’s stores value currently stands at £30K.
